Windows 10 gaming Vs 7 & 8.1

Matriox

I was thinking about puting the technical preview of windows 10 on my PC because of how much I love the interface but I don't know if it will impacked on preformance.. So will windows 10(tech preview) run games worst, better, or as good as my current windows 7?

@Matriox Probably better because it uses less resource, but not all games are 100% compatible. So keep that in mind.

Is there any performance difference you have noticed from the previous version of windows ?

Not noticeable to me, but my PC is rather expensive and not your usual rig. There are nearly no differences in modded skyrim and BF4.

ok...thanks for sharing the info !

I am running win 8.1 and was not sure if I should install win 10 ............I dont think with my hardware there would be any considerable improvement!

sticking to win 8.1.......

Not a super huge improvement from 8.1 to 10 but from my 7 it has a good %10 increase in fps although I'm having a couple of problems with my wireless adapter(8 years old) so I'm probably gonna stick with Win 7 until I get my ssd :) are you gonna upgrade?

I would recommend a dual boot if possible but an upgrade is also a good idea.

i switched from 7 to 10 yesterday. So far No issues with game compatibility. I tested mass effect, tomb raider, Wolfenstein, portal, walking dead. Have not run benchmarks to measure any small changes in framerate. I assume it will perform like windows 8.

Test some older games people.

I tried Half Life 1 and Monkey Island (steam version). They worked.
