hey everyone! so I have a toshiba satellite L755. dunno if it matters, but I3 with 4 gigs of ram.

I can not get into BIOS. Already disabled fast boot, and F12, esc, and F2, just lead to constant (CMOS?) beeps. anyone with experience with these laptops, or can do better research then I can, would be greatly appericated. thanks!

the whole model number is satellite L755-s5112

Did your pc come with Windows 8/8.1 by default, because often there is no splash screen and you have to go into the charms bar, go to settings, click update and recovery, click recovery and click advanced startup.

But if you have a splash screen and literally, can't get into your BIOS, then I don't know.  I'd probably suggest contacting Toshiba in that case.

came with windows 7, replaced with windows 8.1. no BIOS splash, its just the windows emblem and a loading circle when the computer boots.

edit: can use advanced startup, struggling to find boot order, or boot from USB

When the laptop is on and in Windows, pull the battery to force the laptop off. Then put it back in, reboot, and the splash screen should come up since it will be doing a physical cold boot.

attempted, booted as normal.

what confuses me, is Im just trying to boot from usb. and it says you can under advanced boot options, yet there's no option for it.

I think you might be hibernating it rather than shutting down completely, happens in Windows 8.

unplugged from the wall, and removed the battery. so it can not be hibernating. unless its possible to hibernate with no power for short periods of time?

Hibernation requires no power. For an infinite amount of time.

However if unplugged and a battery pull while in Windows boots normally then you're not hibernating
