Hi I could really use some help..

My computer has been stuttering for no apparent reason. And I mean seriously stuttering. The Audio and video both freeze/lag for no apparent reason. It starts about 15 minutes after I start the computer.

I have Checked and it is definitely not a temperature issue.  It started when I was running on integrated graphics, and I suspected that this was the problem, but then I put in A nice high class video card, and it did nothing to fix the problem. I am running on a more than adequate power supply. I have also even gone so far as to try re installing Windows. I am already saving up money to replace the MOBO/CPU with an AM3+ and a FX6300, because I am assuming that the motherboard or the processor is the problem. I would really appreciate it if you had any tips.

Thanks,

Sam

Edit: Oh And I forgot to add that I have used the resource monitor + task manager + my graphics card monitor to tell me that I have never even hit 50% of my system's full power!

@KerbalPhysicist welcome to the forum! dont forget to follow your posts so you know when people respond :Dand use default text so night theme users can read too

in regards to your issue, like @SkimmyMcG (welcome to you too btw)mentioned, we really need your system specs to be able to diagnose anything since what you intend to replace it with and "high class graphics card" mean very little in the grand scheme of things.

Well my current (stuttering Specs are a core i5 2320 ( need to upgrade soon anyway) An Acer mobo that came out of a gateway DX4860 ( I have a REALLY low budget) 8 gb of 1600 mhz ddr3 4x2gb, a Nvidia Gforce GTX 770 w/ 2GB GDDR5, And if it matters, an ANTEC 500 watt power suppl 80+ Bronze. Oh and a seagate barracuda 1 TB w/ Win7.And I started with integrated graphics an I upgraded to the 770 and the problem persisted.

Thanks for your help!

PS how do I default text? I don't quite understand what you mean

Hmm, my laptop kicked it near the begging of the year, granted it was a Dell Latitude D630 so I wasn't too surprised. It died with similar problems, stuttering, drivers not responding, etc. I don't suppose you have extra parts like a motherboard compatible with your CPU, would you? If I was you I'd try putting the parts in other working computers that are compatible to see what's causing this. Sorta sounds like the CPU, but I can't be sure. Maybe Tsuki knows a more about this stuff than I do and can help you better.
