Is my GPU borked?

Go to solution Solved by kichilron,

Weirdly enough (as I was curious, though it's after midnight here) it is not currently reproducable. I tried different input-methods and none of the issues described above came back.

I am now back to my old setup and everything is fine. It was the worst possible time for this anyway, as I will be getting new monitors tomorrow for a triple-monitor-setup again. But for now everything seems fine.

Things I tried:

  • DVI + HDMI
  • DVI alone
  • DVI + Display-Port to DVI

I switched around the monitors alternating the output for each - but nothing appears to be able to reproduce it.

Thanks for your help guys - anyone have an idea what could be the issue, incase it pops up again? For now I will just put it down as a Driver-issue.

All of a sudden it started doing this:

What I can say:

  • It's not the monitor
  • It switches over to main monitor when monitor is unplugged
  • Main Monitor is fine when second monitor is plugged in (second monitor is the one on the picture)
  • Changing resolutions doesn't change anything

Any more ideas what I can do and what it might be? Any input is appreciated.

What I am most interested in is what people think might be the cause and if anyone's seen this before.

Try using another cable

Not the cable. As described above not limited to this Monitor.

Did you try the video card in a different pci, pci-e or AGP slot depending on what slot your video card goes in?

Not yet, no. It's pretty late at the moment and it's turned off at the moment anyway, but I will try tomorrow.

Can you try the card in another PC?

As mentioned above - yes. Will do tomorrow.
