Need planned build checked

Go to solution Solved by yuh25,

Here's a photo of my finished build, thanks guys so much for helping me out =)

Unfortunately I'm currently away from the desktop so I can't take any better photos. I was thinking of putting in white(?) LED strips and I was just wondering the length of strip would be good for the 350D.

Currently looking at these ones: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1354_1356&products_id=24037

Hi just wondering if this system will be fine to build. I've already got a HDD/SSD, monitor and OS
www.pccasegear.com/...

PSU: Corsair CX-750 Modular 80+ Bronze Power Supply

GPU: Galaxy GeForce GTX 780 3GB

CPU cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i CPU Cooler

CPU: i5 4670k

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87M-D3H Motherboard

RAM: Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

Case: Corsair Obsidian 350D Case with Window?

I've been given $1000AUD to build this and the rest I have to pay, so the less I have to pay the better.

What would you recommend, I had a Corsair cx-750 listed before but I wasn't sure. Was trying to make it somewhat green themed.

maybe step up to a 750 watt psu just fore some extra over head.

Shouldn't be necessary unless he wants todo SLI

I did not know that because I am not to knowledgeable about the Z87 boards yet still doing my research.

So everything is fine? mobo and cooler will be fine in that case? and what PSU would you recommend at 750w. I might as well get a higher one for future builds and a possible sli later on?

his motherboard doesn't support that.

I don't think any mobos for that case and for sale on that site have that option yet =\

Like the others have said, if you want to leave room for future upgardes get a Motherboard that supports SLI and maybe up the PSU a little bit.

Coolermaster Scout 2 Case / ASROCK 990FX Extreme3 Motherboard / AMD FX 8350 8 Core CPU (Stock Speed) / Corsair H100i CPU Cooler / Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 WindForce OC 6GB / 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8

i don't know any motherboard by heart , i find it useless... i just checked on the page of it.

yeah , tho you won't be able to sli with that budget while staying micro atx. if you don't mind going atx , you can get a slightly less expensive case & get a more expensive motherboard that allows you to sli.

here's a better power supply that's non modular : http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_535&products_id=21714

here's a modular one : http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_535&products_id=22419

You're telling the OP to buy a more expensive PSU for the future as opposed to spending those funds towards a part he needs now.  Brilliant advice.

Given what's available now, it's fine.

What case would you recommend, that has a window for around that price? I like the fractal design R4 but it costs more, and even more because I would have to buy the window separate.

Fractal makes both window-ed and non-windowed versions of the case, so make sure you check which one you're getting before if you go that route.

Aside from that, I've been looking at this case from Enermax that comes in black and white.

Not at PCCG they only have the regular case and you have to spend another $35AUD for the windowed sidepanel =\

If I was to get the Fractal R4, what motherboard should I get with that? Or should I wait until more Z87M boards come out with an Sli option

You can wait, but I can count on one hand how many people actually make use of multi-GPU setups.  if you're not an enthusiast or someone who just likes to blow money on whatever they want, just stick with one powerful GPU.

I'm thinking more like next year or even the year after instead of getting an GTX 880 or GTX 980 I'll just get another 780

Cheaper to SLI/Crossfire?  Not unless you're talking about two 680s vs. one 690.
