Economics assignment

flamer7

Hey there guys I have this economics assignment for Poverty and Inequality, and I'm supposed to evaluate effectiveness of policies to reduce poverty and inequality in TWO developing economies in Africa. I have NO idea about countries in Africa, so could you suggest two countries which would be great to work on? Perhaps one country where policies have not worked well, and one where they have worked well.

I am supposed to compare the two, so suggestions would be great! Thanks !

Ethiopia could be an example. Bill Gates is trying to do exactly that. You could read about his policies and see how effective they are.

As much as I like the bill and melinda gates foundation, they can't solve poverty through condoms.

While I never said I supported or oppose what they do, I somewhat agree with you. But condoms isn't just the only part of what they do, so that's where I disagree with you. The main point I was trying to get across is Bill Gates is trying to reduce poverty and inequality in Ethiopia.

Yeah I'll definitely look into the Gates foundation, Ethiopia will be one choice. Any other suggestions for a second one?

Sorry I'm out of ideas atm. Probably one of the aforementioned countries.

True, I'll probably do Kenya and Ethiopia. Policies seem to work well in both countries so comparisons won't have much difference but thanks anyway !
