Information Systems Certifications?

So I was offered a job today at a bank... its very intriguing, but they want me to work towards certificates in Information Security Systems (CISSP) and Information Security Auditing (CISA)... The job responsibilities blanket a lot of things,  I have plenty of prior experience in nearly everything, except for the information security part of it... I've always toyed around with networking, but have never really considered making a career off of it, I figure some of you who frequent the forum do this day to day and I wanted to ask a few questions.

Have any of you taken the exams, or schooling to work towards taking the exams?

Anyone who works in the related fields, do you find it enjoyable, or overburdening with the stress involved? Basically any opinions you have of it.

I don't' think certifications aren't that much stressful. I don't have any yet, but I know some people that do and they say once you get em, it's easy going. Just think of it as a very hard final or something. Just put in the work to get it and good things will come out. If you are good with tech learning something new should be fun.

Ah, I just re-read that and noticed I didn't word it well at all... I meant to ask if the jobs involving work the certs cover is stressful.
