i have just attempted to build my rig yaaay waited 5 months to build it and i have just realised that at the top of my mobo says eatx 12v but the pins dont line up :( i have a corsair 750m psu and a asus sabertooth 990fx :(

Amd fx 8350,asus sabertooth R2,corsair c70,corsair h100i,palit gtx 580,corsair 8gb vengeance Ram,corsair txm 750.

The 8-pin CPU connctor should be a propartery connector that fits universally. Are you sure you have it turned the right way around? And that your not trying to fit a PCI-e 8-pin into the 8-pin CPU connctor?

Yeah. Make sure you have it turned the right way, and that it's even the right plug. PCI-E power and CPU power plugs are similar.

Ok a cpu cable is either an 8 block or two sets of 4 that go together. You need to make sure the one you have says cpu on it and is one of those types and if it is a 4+ 4 then make sure all of the pins go in correct by inserting 4 pins at a time rather than all of the 4+4 together at once. Also e-atx power is just what it is cooled. i  have a m-atx am3 board from asus that says this on the 24 pin and it is perfectly fine. I think some manufactures just call it different things.
