Turn on, ram?

Go to solution Solved by bob345,

the motherboard can't post without ram. if you try and run the system, it will either turn on for a second and back off again, or it will run fans and lights but you will have no kind of output.

You could probably take a stick of RAM out of an old system to test your Mobo.

Very helpful, i well get a ram from an other pc tomorrow, will see if it works.

Just remember it has to be DDR3 or else it won't physically fit in the slots.

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

Desktop: i5-4670k - 8gb 1600MHz - MSI 7850

Laptop: i7-4810QM - GTX 870m - 8gb RAM
