1. Budget & Location

My budget is around/less than $1500.

2. Aim

The pure purpose of this PC is for gaming.

3. Monitors

I already have one 1080p monitor, I might get a second, so I can multitask easier. Or I might get a 1440p monitor but that will probably far in the future.

4. Peripherals

I have a monitor, like I said, and a Razer Deathadder, I need a keyboard, but haven't found one, so if you guys have any recommendations...

5. Why am I Upgrading?

I want to join the PC Master Race.

I also might SLI/Crossfire in the future.

This is the list that I have come up with, so if you could approve upon it, that would be greatly appreciated. I chose that case because its the only case that I really like the looks, doesn't have a window, and isn't that expensive.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($225.98 @ SuperBiiz)

Looks near-perfect. I would switch the H80i to an H105 or an NH-D15 and get a nicer case though (like the Arc Midi R2, Corsair Air 540, Phanteks Enthoo Pro, NZXT Phantom 530 or NZXT Source 340.)

I wouldn't get a GTX 980. The 780ti or GTX 970 are a way better value at the moment

Here is a 780ti for only $449 and it's an EVGA classified model

I don't really like beefy coolers, as they take up a lot of space in case. That is a very nice case, but I wasn't really looking for a case with a window and I think a full tower might be a little too big for my liking.

The 980 consumes less power, is a little faster, and has an extra gig of memory. I'm going to stick with the 980.

then a H440 would be fine, it's a mid tower

The H105 doesn't fit in the case I don't think (which is a real shame) and I have never really been a big fan of beefy coolers. A lot of the cases you have mentioned have windows, and I'm looking for a case without a window. If the S340 didn't have a window I would definitely get one.

Why no window, if you don't mind me asking? And you can get a non-windowed Arc Midi R2.

Also, Kraken X61/H110 instead of H105 and you should be fine.

just use spray paint or plastic dip to cover the window :P

You could get a 500R or a R4 with no window

That was an idea of mine, but I wasn't sure how it would look when it was finished. I also don't like the bulging side panel of the 500r and I don't like how wide the the r4 is :/

Because I have a PS4 now, there is a light on it, and it distracts me while I'm playing. I had to put tape over it :/ and if my case a window on it I would see all of the lights.

The rounded-ish edges of the Arc Midi kinda annoy me.

Does the X61 fit in the Core 3000?

Some one correct me if I'm wrong but one of the perks of being a part of the PC master race is programmable lighting. The lights on the motherboard should have an option in the bios to be turned off and the lighting on the card can be changed from geforce experience. So don't cower in fear of your PC parts take control and show them off.

8 threads may be useful in future games(dx12)

mobo is good enough, watch techsyndicate review

cpu cooler --it's a personal choice, though i prefer air coolers, less chance of failure, quieter than water, half the price of good aio at sacrifice of few degrees (3-5) temp

i would put gtx 970 with blower cooler

this psu got 10 years warranty
