Bass in Realtek HD Audio Manager, but no bass outside.

Go to solution Solved by Såspanvan,

Case closed, my friend gave me his old Phoebus soundcard, we put it in and enable a simple option called Flex Bass II (an option realtek did not have) and the bass makes my teeth shake in 7.1 mode, holy shit is all I have to say.

So i've been fiddling all day trying to get bass in my new headset, it's suppose to have great 7.1 bass but when I turn on the 7.1 function all the bass goes away, in my realtek hd audio manager program I can click on each speaker separately and when I click the subwoofer icon there's clearly one hell of a bass but outside of the realtek program I get naught ...

Surely it must be a software related problem if the bass is loud and clear in realtek manager but totally gone when I listen to music or play games.

My mobo is a Z87-G45 so it does support 7.1

Logitech G35

I'm 100% sure they aren't suppose to have 0 bass no matter how virtual 7.1 is, if so then hundreds of reviewers are lying which seems unlikely, but yeah changing it to 2.1 does add bass but it sounds muffled.

Try tweaking the LFE/crossover setting, if it got one. Also check if the 'fill speakers' option is checked (you'd want it checked).

In my experience, Realtek's applications/drivers are craps. Not the chip, but the applications. Found out about this after I changed my mobo, and it got VIA chip onboard. The VIA applications are much more intuitive and easier to tweak.

I can't find LFE or crossover anywhere, fill speakers is activated but it doesn't do anything, i'm inclined to get a soundcard just to have better software to mess around with, like you say, the realtek application isn't that great.
