update to Win 8.1 question

I have updated my friend's laptop to 8.1 and he didn't lose anything.

If its true that win10 will be for free for 8.1 users, then i am gonna cry, cuz tjats awesome, and they said that upgrading from win7 will cost like 30€

when win 10 comes out, will they activate the key for win 10, that i am currently using?

I think that Win 10 is coming very soon, and maybe that the Win 8 key that we use will be used for Win 10...

Windows 10 is said to be coming out some time in the middle of 2015.

Your files will be all kept, in the same places as you mostly remember them.

 

However, it will create a windows.old folder in your C: drive, so you have to clean it up(don't just delete it, use the clean up utility, windows will detect it as useless and delete it for you, to not cause problems).

Windows 10 will probably have the exact same compatibility, since a lot of it is based of Windows 8. Oh and btw, your avatar is really.... well, special.
