getting that every time i try to boot the machine on both 8.1 and other windows preset, here the current setting which are mostly maxed expect for ram and hdd space, also that the most it allows me to set up video memory even though i have 1gb 560, idk what to do in order to even boot, i haven't even installed the damn thing

yes i know a vm isn't the best way to experience the preview but i want to try this fisrt before putting it on a spare pc i have

Put VB into Win 8.1 x64 mode and run it with 3d graphics with max graphics memory. Use the x64 installer.

Put VB into Win 8.1 x64 mode and run it with 3d graphics with max graphics memory. Use the x64 installer.

does that work even whit a 32bit iso? well i don't lose nothing trying

 

edit: ohh i missed the part about the x64 installer, well i guess im going directly to that spare pc first

I used the x64 iso. I don't see why you would download the 32 bit one. Try Win 8.1 x86 then...

edited the other post, but i downloaded 32 bit first since it was smaller and that spare pc has a sandy bridge pentium whit less that 4gb of ram, so i though the 32 bit iso would work on the vm but it doesn't even changing what you told me :/

Have you tried temporarily disabling your anti-virus software(s) and try to boot it with the network adapter disabled?

download x64 iso and then tell virtualbox its windows 8.1 64bit and make it use more VRAM. I used the x64 iso on VmWare and it worked perfectly so maybe try VmWare?
