Hello, I'm looking to build a new gaming PC as my current once is way out of date. I have a corsair 650w powersupply and a gaming case already. I'm looking to replace the PSU though because my current one is making a weird high pitched noise some time after starting up, but goes away after a minute or two. On high load I sometimes hear some kind of high buzz sound so I don't think it's good to overload this one with parts that require higher wattage. With that, I'm looking to replace it with a 750w or more power supply. I would like some advice on what power supply I should get as well. Here is the link to the part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Pottymouth/saved/tctLrH

1. Budget & Location
My budget right now should be around $2000 USD. I'm looking to buy this in 2-3 months as I've started a new job.

2. Aim
This computer will be used for mostly FPS gaming. I mostly play CS:GO so the monitor absolutely needs to be 144hz and the game should run at atleast 200 FPS. I also want to run games like Wolfenstein: The New Order, Crysis 3 or any of the newer games coming out at atleast 60 FPS on 1440p.

3. Monitors
Just one for now. Will run at 2560x1440 resolution.

4. Peripherals
I'm looking at getting a new keyboard, mouse, and headset. Keyboard must be mechanical so I'm looking at the Coolermaster CM Storm Quick Fire TK. The mouse is a Logitech G502 Optical. The mouse has to be optical, I'm not looking for a laser mouse. I also don't want to consider a razer, or steelseries mouse. Not into that overhyped stuff. The headset is a Sennheiser PC320 though I'm not sure how good that specific one is, so advice on that one would be great as well. I'm also only considering Sennheiser for the headset.

5. Why are you upgrading?
Current PC is out of date. I'm currently running an Intel Core2Duo E6400 with a GeForce GTS 250.

Just get an Intel 4690k,it will perform just as well is games. I also recommend getting sennheiser 518s or 558s and a modicum 4.0 or a blue snowball, but that may not be an option: at least get the 518s and a zalman mic (hyperx clouds are also a good option). Other than that, you build looks nice.

Get a cheaper monitor and get a 980 instead, post a case and cooler. Also would recommend a Razer Deathadder for FPS gaming and a corsair K70 keyboard

Want a good game to play?  Check out Shadowrun: http://store.steampowered.com/app/300550/ (runs on literally any hardware)

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll look into the 4690k and GTX 980. The case is a COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP. I already have 2 HDDs for storage but I'm looking to get one 250-256GB SSD. Maybe a Samsung 840-850 pro. The CPU cooler is something I still have to look at. I was thinking the Noctua NH-D14.

Also is the Corsair CX 750W a good choice for the PSU?
