I am looking for a monitor between 23-27 inch for photographic work. Preferably an ips panel for colour reproduction. Could anyone recommend any around the £300/$435?

Thanks

The U2410 is going very cheap now, so grab that while you can. If you're willing to extend your budget a bit more then you cannot go wrong with anything off the Asus Pro Art series. Asus has a beastly 27 inch, PB278Q, but it costs upwards of $600.

I wouldn't recommend the PB278Q for photos, it's not factory calibrated.

The Dell U2410, U2413, ASUS PA248Q or PA249Q.

Actually, with monitor that comes with factory pre calibrated isn't always perfect. You can achieve better color with a calibrator. If you're going to work with a lot photo, you will need to recalibrate your monitor too because the color is going to change at some point.

But it's a starting point isn't it?

Yep, it's better than nothing XD. Just want to point thing out. Assuming that he is going to get a calibrator for his work. If he get one, a pre calibrated monitor isn't going to be a big factor for him because he is going to calibrate his monitor anyway :D.

I agree with everything said.

But just to be clean, for the Dell monitor, we are talking about the U2413H NOT the U2413HM :)

In other words, the expensive one, is what we suggest. :)

If you need better, however, you have to go with professional grade monitors, as what was mentioned is the highest end bracket of consumer grade monitors.
