PSU for 780 SLI

Go to solution Solved by Mateyyy,

@Oshtro Welcome to the forum! :)

You'll be fine with your current power supply. 780s don't consume like 300W, even when slightly overclocked.

THAT BEING SAID, unless you got like a crazy deal on two 780s, why don't you try to get two 980s or two 970s? The dual 980 solution is going to be faster, the dual 970 solution is going to be almost the same performance, and both the 970 and the 980 will consume a lot less power and run at lower temperatures (that means less noise).

Im currently running a single GTX 770 on a Corsair RM750 and will be upgrading soon to dual GTX 780s. Im not sure if I will need a bigger psu or not. Ive looked at multiple calculators and seen everything from the 750 i have all the way to a 1200w power supply. Any help?

If it helps:

i5 4670k oc 4.4GHz 1.256 vcore(i believe, vcore may be slightly lower)

I just havent really looked into them yet, and i havent bought anything yet, but worst case scenario i get two 780s and they use more power then both the 970 and 980. So if im good for two 780s with my psu then ill be golden for the 900 series.

Oh, and I did find two 780s brand new for about 120 under retail :)
