Hi , i was wondering what are these poct code chekpoints? im new to all of this and on my first build i have from 30 - 40 , then 20 - 30 , on my first boot it showed 0F and the second day just random numbers , im using a ECS Z77H2-A2X Black Deluxe motherboard and im hoping you can help me get rid of those , and should i be worried ?  

I haven't lost my mind -- it's backed up on a HDD!

Normally when booting the system is putting out these numbers, it's just doing it's checks (POST). 

You can always check your motherboard manual if you want to know what they mean. 

Check page 93 - 96 in manual.

It's just telling you what part of the POST process its at. As long as you don't get errors when booting (or booting at all) then there's no need to worry.

 

My EVGA 680i SLI does C1 (memory) C3 (cpu states) 76 (additional hardware) and then FF if it's successful.

 

When it's on it could also be a temp readout for the CPU.

You'd need to be worried if it gets stuck on a POST code. If they're changing it just means it succesfully initilized the BIOS, various interfaces and so on.

The most common number is 30 and according to the manual it is reserved for ASL , and again , what is asl i cant seem to find it ?

Unless your computer fails to boot, I wouldn't worry to much. All the codes are really helpful for is troubleshooting if you are having problems. If not, don't worry about it :D
