I recently bought a MSI GS60 Ghost-012, and I am able to play most games perfectly fine on the laptop, however, whenever I try to play Battlefield 4, the GPU crashes. Sometimes it happens the instant I try to spawn, and it sometimes happens at the end of a match. I believe that it is the GPU that is at fault because whenever it crashes, everything is still running, including the sound, but the screen goes black. Force restarting the system brings the display back.

I would assume that it is a heat issue, but the system runs fine when playing other, equally demanding games.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

reinstall the video driver (non beta version)

I have tried reinstalling the driver, and it did not help.

1. Try updating drivers

2. Press ctrl+alt+del and see if anything happens (when screen goes black)

3. RMA

1) The drivers are up to date

2) already tried that and nothing happened

Would playing on an external monitor have any effect? I have not tried playing on the laptop display since this issue appeared, but is it even possible for it to have that effect?

If it's a GPU problem, it should not have any effect, but if it does have an effect, it's most likely a screen problem.
