Hi!

I've been planning on getting a new PC(1000$-1500$) but because it's my first time building, I decided that I should make a small cheap build first to kinda "train" a little. So, I decided that I should build a HTPC (don't know if I can call it HTPC, but it will basically be put in my bedroom, connected to my TV, and will be used to watch animes, movies and tv shows that are not available in my country).

1. Budget & Location

300$, max 400$ and I live in Portugal.

2. Aim

I'll use this HTPC to watch movies, animes, tv shows and, later on, I'll add a GPU so I can also game on it (If you can include the GPU already on the 400$ budget, I would cry of happiness).

3. Monitors

Already have a 32" TV (quite small, couldn't buy bigger back then)

4. Peripherals

Nope.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Not upgrading. Didn't have anything before.

So, I came up with this list, tell me what you think about it and help me getting it more cheaper.

NOTES:
  • Do I need the sound card?
  • Would like to get all things from Amazon
  • Didn't include the hard drive since I already have a 250GB HDD, but if you can fit a SSD or small HDD, I wouldn't mind
  • Would like to keep the case
  • FX series or APU?

Thanks!

Btw you can't even get rosewill in portugal I think/

All the cooling and the PSU is extra quiet.

If you don't value the option to use 5.1 audio get the cheapest mobo you can.

As for the case, just grab any HTPC really. Prefered brands are : Fractal design, Silverstone etc.

And no you don't really need a sound card.

Thank you, that looks good  :)

The thing about ordering from US Amazon instead of Spain Amazon is that I pay much less (for example, in Spain Amazon I pay 400€ and in US Amazon I pay 400$, wich turns into 315€).
