I think you could go with a bigger power supply, or one with better efficiency. Maybe 650w or 700w.

Xeon =More cores but less powerful per core/more instruction sets (computer languages) supported... for multitasking 

i7= Decent amount of cores, but also lots of performance per core/ higher amount of possible performance per core... for performance
