Can an OC 3570k handle 3 780's or should I finally upgrade cpu?

Enthoo Primo - ASUS Maximus Formula VII - 4790k 4.8ghz 1.28v - EK Supremacy Evo Clean - 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical - 1000w EVGA Supernova Gold - 2x Alphacool Monsta Rads in push/pull - 2x Galaxy 780 HoF with EK waterblock

It can handle it, but I personally would upgrade anyways seeing as your motherboard can't do three way SLI anyways.

K ty all. I really love my 3570k, but I think it's about time to upgrade. Have always wanted hyper-threading for video editing

Can I ask why you need 3 780s also? :P

there is no way a i5 can handle 3 780's, is depends on the game but i think 3 780's would be held back by an i5. peronally i wouldn't have more than 2 gpu's on a mainstream platform.

Pretty much this.  There aren't any games that would be held back by an i5, but then again if you have the money for 3 780s then might as well get a 4790k. 

he said hes editing video's. not just playing games.

But then it won't hold the cards  - just the video rendering process. 

 

 

Just so its clear I'm not saying a i5 won't cause a bottleneck in games or not)

Already have 1 really fantastic 780, just got another one in the mail for a really good price, and found ANOTHER one for an even better price (both of them exact same as my card). Just figured I want to eventually try 4k resolution (I'm spoiled)
