Hello everyone,

what is a used gigabyte windforce OC edition AMD R9 290 worth?

So I just built a new computer in early August. It has a 4790k and an r9 290. Since the new 9 series cards have come out I would really like to get a 970.

Any suggestions would help!

As soon as a card is used, even if it is only a month old you lose a lot of value. $350 is off the table. I suggest Ebay and hoping to get ~$330

Hello everyone,

So I just built a new computer in early August. It has a 4790k and an r9 290. I have been regretting the 290 since the beginning. No CUDA!! Since the new 9 series cards have come out I would really like to get a 970. I was wondering how the hell I should sell my 290? It is the gigabyte windforce OC edition card. Really a wonderful card, but I need CUDA. I paid $385 for it but would be willing to sell it for $350 or even $300-$325 if I got desperate.

Any suggestions would help!

Dude you are not going to get more than 250.

True, Graphics cards lose their value almost instantly after a new one comes out!

used R9 290 reference are $150-225. miners killed that market.

custom PCB cards can draw $250-300 if you are patient, need it fast, it'll have

to be competitive against new price levels.

hard to sell against the new GTX 770 at $350 and newegg selling new R9 290 at $340-$399

I would keep the card unless you want a GTX970 really badly. Because AMD lowered the prices for the R9 290 and R9 290X today significantly. You will make a loss. And there´s nothing wrong with a R9 290. Still a good card.

If your sample isn´t too bad in terms of OCing it´s pretty much head to head with the GTX970. A real leap in performance over a R9 290 would be a good OCing (which is pretty much every card :D) GTX980.

Sure DSR is cool, but I can´t make use of it. I can´t make use of G-Sync as well, at least not in an apropriate way since I am running a SLI. I tested DSR with one card and it works fine but nVidia is trying to update the drivers as fast as possible. But for me kind of dissapointing a bit to be honest because I was about to buy the new Acer XB280HK monitor... 4K with G-sync sounds promising... but 4K without SLI is a joke, and not a good one.
