Do i need an upgrade?

Currently running an old Phenom II 940 BE with 3GB Ram (because one slot died) and a GTX 260 GS. Everything is still running fine and im not really playing games but its almost 6 years old now.

 

Im thinking about upgrading to a Core i5 4460 on the Asus H97 Mobo with 8GB of Kingston HyperX Fury (and then maybe get a new GPU some months down the road).

 

Im pretty low on money and not sure if it makes sense to spend the 375.-. Any opinions on this matter to help me decide would be appreciated.

If all you do is surf and do not game, then why fix something that is not broken?

 

If your looking for best performance upgrade, you should look at a SSD, even on a Sata 2 port, will out perform greatly a standard HDD.

keep on saving. If you're not  a gamer, it's fine. Maybe get a 120gb SSD or something.

If you don't really game and you're happy with your current performance, there isn't really a need to. I agree with ilikemacandpc, an SSD might be the boost that you're looking for.

I agree, SSD perhaps to improve performance, but other than that if you don't notice any issues then I wouldn't bother upgrading it.

On a side note, how on earth do you live with 3gb of RAM? I have 4 and I constantly have crashing issues. Thanks, Chrome.
