So I plan on putting together a new rig in the near future, but I wanted some opinions before I actually do. Since this will be my first time to ever put together a PC, my knowledge on computer parts isn't as well-versed as I'd like so I am a bit concerned about the mobo. The only thing that I really know about the mobo is the socket compatibility and SLI vs Crossfire support. I should also add that this build was originally for the R9 290, but since the 970 came out, I decided to go for that instead. So obviously I'd prefer to invest in a mobo that supports SLI, but I have no idea what other features of a mobo I should keep an eye on.

I'd like to also add that any opinions aside from the mobo are appreciated.

With all that said, thanks for taking the time to look over and giving your input I really appreciate it :)

Sorry about that, just added the permalink, also I'm using this for video editing/rendering as well as for gaming so I chose the 4790k and 16gigs of ram.

Is there any particular reason why you chose that mobo? My knowledge on mobos is limited so I apologize if I sound incredibly stupid.

oh if you do video editing get 16gb and an i7 like you mentioned . I chose that board because i know its reliable and has crossfire and sli support... performance from motherboards doesn't change that much (let me find linus's video about that)
