original xbox help

Ok so although i have a pc i still would really like to get an original xbox, for the awesome games that i grew up with as a kid. With that said i can not seem to find a way to get it to work on a monitor. So my question is there a way to do this or not, if so please explain how. Thanks!

There is a way to create a vga cable for the xbox that uses to rgb output an a sync splitter and it require a modified bios, at least for the NTSC version. Unfortunately the modding scene for the first xbox has been rapidly dieing the last 3 years so it's hard to find links which still work.  http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/vga-cable.php is the best resource I can find during a quick google search. I suggest signing up for the x-scene forums, though I'm unsure of how active the original xbox section is anymore.

 

Feel free to pm me if you need help with the bios stuff as the sharing of that code is a legal grey area right now. Also you should look into some more mods for the console like upgrading the hard drive and running games from it as it makes load times so much faster and reduces risk of buring out your dvd laser. I used to be fairly active in the scene back 5 years ago and still keep around 2 xboxes with 500GB hard drive loaded with XBMC, emulators and homebrew games, game mods, and my entire collection of xbox games though they don't get nearly as much use now as they had back in the day.
