so i was thinking about going matx instead of atx what are the advantages and disadvantages of matx compared to atx and is it more difficult to build in a matx case than an atx case and what are good matx cases for 0-100 dollars usd i was thinking of the 350d non window and can the 350d fit a h100i in push pull config

the only downside to mATX over ATX is that you're limited to two-way SLI, and there will more than likely be no space between the two cards. So, if you want to go three way SLI or use more than 2 PCIe cards then you'll have issues.

As for building a mATX build....It's just as easy as ATX unless you opt for a super compact case (like a Node 804) or a prodigy M. But building in the 350D is incredibly easy.

I bought an mATX motherboard to replace my ATX AMD board because it was the cheapest and best looking dual sli capable board gigabyte had, and it was a breeze even with my sausage fingers.

Although it does look rather silly in an air 540. One unexpected bonus was the led path lighting on the board shining behind the motherboard as well as in front, causing a reflection off of a factory bend in the bottom of the motherboard tray (not sure of the correct term there) which I find to be kind of nice. If you go mATX my advice is to get one with an m.2. slot, so you can have an onboard SSD and eliminate a pair of wires for at least one SSD.

Z97MX Gaming 5 as it's the only mATX Gigabyte board on the z97 chipset (supports M.2).

ok what was the motherboard that you got?

Gigabyte's GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5. It was $117.00 when I got it, which was awesome because I managed to squeeze in a 4690k along with it. Spent my last paycheck on the two. If you get on newegg and read the reviews, mine is the one with 1 star, gave it when I thought it was broken, turned out to be my gpu, so disregard that review.

The only complaint I have, is that I find the bios a tad bit confusing, but I am a newb, and haven't cared about overclocking since I'm air cooling.
