So I am in the market for a gtx 970 but I'm not 100% sure which one?? here are the main contenders expect one which I'll get to in a second

IkKRBvU.png

Now for me the MSi is the winner no doubt here is why

I fricken hate noise... In the review I got this image from they said the EVGA has no upgrades power componenets so it made a weird noise so that is off the topic straight away...

In terms of looks and build quality the Strix wins because of it's all meteal backplate and metal shroud.. But the msi wins everything else. As you can see it's higher clocked out of the box has a better power delivery system 6+2 power phase design + additional 6 pin. Also has the same 0db technology and has bigger fans so quiter operation. The cooler is also better. It's an amazing overclocker

buut... WHY MSI EVERYONE IS MOVING TO BACKPLATES AS THE NEW TREND WHY MAKE ME LOOK AT THAT BARE PCB THROUGH MY HUGE CORSAIR 760T WINDOW!!!!

The plastic shroud I can forgive but the no blackplate... why if it did I would buy it now..

So the other one I'm thinking is the gigabyte gtx 970... it fully metal and metal backplate it has a 8 and 6 pin like the msi one and matches the colour scheme of my system allot better than the msi one... Although it has no 0db technology which sucks and on a review of it I saw one of the complaints is it's idle rpm is too loud... what do you think I should get? I'm not soo sure because reviews of the 970 are really there atm

According to reviews i'd consider the gigabyte the best one

Their windforce coolers are very quiet aswell. You can always adjust a fan curve to make it even more quiet, as high fan speeds won't matter THAT much for temperatures

After watching reviews, I consideree everything inferior to the g1 gaming edition

I plan on getting two ASUS Strix 970s... unless MSI releases the 980 Lightning sometime soon

Worse performer and overlcoker though http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/09/19/nvidia-geforce-gtx-970-review/6

it will also be louder than the msi one

The STRIX is not the worst at anything though. Those cards are all within margin of error plus they don't have a sexy backplate like the STRIX and the EVGA is a defective card with a shoddy cooler on it.  http://www.eteknix.com/evga-respond-possible-design-flaw-gtx-970-acx/

May I ask why the superior one, gigabyte, is not included in the tables?

Why is it superior

The fact the Gigabyte has blue LEDs is kind of a turn off for me

Plus the gigabyte only has a 5+1 power phase design compare to 6+2... MSI card is the best performer why couldn't they add fucking backplate and a metal shroud!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly don't think it looks ugly without the backplate. At least it's a matte black PCB.

The best performer? Yeahright. If you could find me evidence for this false statement I might reconsider the brand.

the gigabyte performs the best from what I've seen. If batman was into gaming, he would buy it (just sayin).
