Hey guys so i recently got into warframe and i'm enjoying the experience so far. Problem is that while advertised as a coop game it feels anything but "coop" it's more just playing alongside with others with very little help for each other aside from the occasional need to revive each other. Also i joined in fairly late so i missed out on the founders packs and a few other "freebies" and such :(

Anyways i do still plan on playing this game but i'd also like to look for an alternative to Warframe. So the requirements are the following:

  • Needs to be free to play or has plans on becoming free to play
  • Has coop to play with friends
  • Is in alpha, closed or open beta (oddly enough i don't want to go with a finished one since i'd like to support the game if i find one that takes my interest, usually founder packs and such only are offered before they go "live" officially) only exception is if "founder" packs are still available for a released MMO at the current time.
  • Not pay to win (if known)
  • Has very nice graphics on a similar level to warframe.
  • (Optional) Ideally i'm looking for a MMO Third Person Shooter or MMOTPS (i'm flexible with this so it's preferred but optional)
  • (Optional) Is on Steam or has plans of being available on steam

Those are the requirements i can think of  from the top of my head, they may change but that's pretty much the most important stuff. I know some of my requirements are odd but at the end of the day it's what i want. Thanks for the help to those that reply :)

Firefall comes to my mind. Personally I don't like any kind of MMO's except Planetside 2, it might suit you better than me.

Planetside 2 or gtfo.

You can try World of Tanks or Warthunder.

Anyone who has a sister hates the fact that his sister isn't Kasugano Sora.
Anyone who does not have a sister hates the fact that Kasugano Sora isn't his sister.
I'm not insulting anyone; I'm just being condescending. There is a difference, you see...

Try Warframe with some friends... makes it a ton of fun.

I think he's already played it,considering he asked for a game with similar graphic quality to it.

I got quite far into it.

I had a full modded Dread which could 1 shot pretty much everything, along with the oh so ex-OP Galatine(jeez,it was so OP).

After that it became grinding in the void for Prime parts and I got bored...

D:

(I did manage to get the Paris Prime and something else, can't remember what though)

Why on earth is beta a requirement? You weirdo! (I kid, I kid  :P )

Seriously though, consider finished games anyway. The "extras" are usually kinda meaningless any way. Try SMITE, I personally adore that game for teamplay, especially if you have some buddies with voice comms. It's a third person MOBA style game, action focused and based mostly on skillshots.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

Thanks for the responses so far, i'll take a look at Defiance. As Nineshadow has pointed out I have played it and i will continue to do so, i'm playing it with a few friends already its just that our timezones and schedules don't always mesh nicely. I don't plan on dropping warframe itself anytime soon i'm just looking for something else as an alternative that i can also support from the beginning :) Just knowing i missed out some exclusive stuff in a game i'm enjoying will bug me the entire time i play it.

I've already got Payday the Heist and Payday 2, both of them i've played to death with friends so i've gotten bored of them until payday 2 releases something new (new heist please!). I've also played Planetside 2 with friends that i regularly play games with and we all got bored of it quick, i think because it just lacked any "objective" it felt more like making your own fun and it was fun for a while going here and there claiming buildings and such. But after a while it got boring quick because we didn't feel like we were making any progress. We started team killing each other just from how bored we were :P

As for warthunder and World of tanks...i dislike military games its just a personal thing i have nothing against them.

@SirRoderick I'm happy to make the exception for finished games assuming the game has the "founder" packs still available at the current point in time, its again coming back to the small nagging feeling i get that i missed out on certain exclusive stuff in a game i (may) like. I've updated the first post to reflect that.

SMITE lets you buy the so called "god pack" which gives you all the gods present and future, which is basically the deal foudners got. The only other things to get in the game are skins and such.

Ah forgot to also address that, I personally dislike the MOBA genre, the communities revolving around those games are just too competitive for my tastes.

Fair enough, I don't like them either :P

One of the reasons I like SMITE is that it's less the case there, more easily accesible and you can just play less competitive gamemodes without missing out. But hey, if you don't like em you don't like em.

If i also recall...some players of League of Legends and DOTA play SMITE just to troll and muck about, either that or just take a break from their "main" moba title. But yeah don't like them at all regardless.

Planetside 2 :)

Thanks for the suggestion but it's already been suggested :)

Funny you should mention that, i was just looking at it a few minutes ago, i'll keep my eye on it for the time being. I'm currently not sold on it just yet but the idea sounds cool, but yeah still happy to hear more suggestions :)

Assuming it actually gets a release still. That game was being discussed like, 5-6 years ago now
