Hello everyone

I accidentally formatted my SDCard to EXT4 and now Windows is unable to read it. I have a Sandisk 64gb SDCard. I've tried going to the forums on XDA and requesting someone to help add EXT4 support to their kernel but most of them are busy with other stuff.

Mini-Partition tool does not detect it:

Windows default partition tool detects it (Disk 2) but it shows this:

Defraggler seems to detect it but it just like Windows default partition tool, there's no capacity:

Any ideas?

is your sd card dead? it sure looks like it. tried it in another PC?

I normally format removable storage devices in Computer/My Computer jsut right click and hit format if it shows up at all...

if it doesnt show up then i really think its dead or a driver is messed up or something.

Reboot into Linux then reformat it into NTFS or wipe the FS.

That's the problem though. I don't think my laptop supports Linux. Asus ROG G750JX

Tried my parent's laptop. Same thing. I think it's dead too.

Noticing it says "no media" as status.. its like it detects a usb storage device but it doesn't detect the controller. I hope its not dead, but it for sure looks like it. sorry if it is :(

Hopefully it's not. 64gb is a lot and quite expensive for a student like me who saves up money to buy stuff

How did you "accidentally" formatted it to Ext4 otherwise? Just download an Linux distro then boot from it.

Will booting Ubuntu on vmware work?
