Hello everyone,

Yesterday my pc crashed quite bad, it started with the bios program that crashed (AI suite II which came with my ASUS P8H77-M motherboard) and a few minutes after that windows 7 started breaking down.

I tried to check if all my files were ok by just going trough my libraries (the pc thing, not the place with books) and then it said that it couldn't find the folder I clicked on, after that I exited my libraries and tried to open it again and it said it couldn't find the libraries at all and I wasn't able to shut down my pc at all after this so I had to press on/off swich for about 10 seconds to shut it down.

After this horrible event I decided to turn off the power completely for an hour or so and then I decided to fire it up again but it wasn't able to boot (it gave the: insert windows recovery disk screen) so I inserted the disk it was asking for and I tried to fix all the problems but strangely it didn't find any or it said that they couldn't be fixed.

At this point I tried booting it again which it did, succesfully. However, now everytime I start my pc I get the following screen after which it turns down again and after 2 seconds it fires up again and goes directly to the welcome screen of windows 7 64 bit and it also doesn't show a windows logo at any time and the green things move around the bar they are in (had to construct it in photoshop):

I heard from someone else who also had this screen that his pc had a meltdown after a few days of functioning fine and I ofcourse don't want that, the only tip he gave me was to reinstall windows but as I have about 500 gb of data on my one and only HDD which is capable of taking so much memory it won't be easy to copy all my files, it would take months to get everything again and I don't want that of course.

So now the question is: does anyone know any other fixes or am I doomed to reinstall???

Thx for any help I get and hope to hear soon before it decides to crash.
