Hey Guys...Need some gaming rig advice....

My current specs :
cpu :core i5 2500 @ 3.3 ghz (not the K version).
gpu : xfx radeon 6950 1gb
ram : kingston 6 gb ddr3 @ 1333Mhz
psu : corsair GS700

mobo : intel DB65AL

My target is 1080p / 60 fps for all next gen games for atleast 2 years...

Planning on replacing the 6950 with a gtx 970 ( non reference design).

1. Any chance there might be a bottleneck due to the cpu ?

2. The mobo supports PCIe x16 Gen 2.x ,any compatibility issues that i might face there ?

3. Is the PSU ok for the gtx 970 ?

Thanks in advance..biggrin.gif

CPU is good enough not to bottleneck a 970 and the PSU would be absolutely fine with it. The motherboard won't have compatibility issues with Gen 2 it just won't perform as well as it would on a gen 3. Minimal difference either way. Yeah you will easily get 1080p 60fps on games for the next 2 years. On fairly high settings aswell. You might want to upgrade to 8GB of 1600Mhz ram though. Some games have trouble with less than 8 these days.
