Node 804 - Cooling Setup

Go to solution Solved by nj4ck,

Put an intake fan in the bottom, your airflow is passing right over your GPU without cooling it.

I've been having problems with my R9 290 overheating in my Node 804 and throttling, I have one spare fan that I could put somewhere to improve my performance. I'm also willing to rearrange my current setup (Push - Pull with a rad in the front)

Picture of Case (currently I have the window removed to prevent throttling)

I'll try that but the card almost touches the case some I'm not sure it will work.

what do you mean? looks like there is plenty of space underneath the card.

like here:

EDIT, oh right, I see those are only 80mm mounts in the bottom. You should probably get two 80mm fans in there or squeeze another 120 in the bottom-front, if you can.

Just put a 120MM in the front and its working great might get 80MMs for the bottom like you recommended.

Any results on the temps yet? You should be able to put the window back in without having any overheating issues now.

I was getting around 85 in Far Cry 3 on Ultra instead of 90-95.
