Heya,

is this something that was announced long ago? because if so, then i need to change the way i use the internet properly.

http://www.caseking.de/shop/catalog/Eingabegeraete/Tastaturen/Alle-Tastaturen/Logitech-G910-Orion-Spark-Mechanische-Gaming-Tastatur::29261.html (german site)

anyone knows something about those romer-g switches? logitech own key switch? sounds interesting anyways, further more it has individualy lit keys in rgb.

If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.

  • 4 weeks later...

I am going to give this keyboard a shot it is far better than any keyboard I have ever owned to begin with; Even with the lack of knowledge about the Romer switches. That being said most of my stuff in my corner is Logitech periphreals so I am a strong promoter of their stuff. Basically said I'm hoping they won't give me a reason to purchase there stuff anymore.

I love the board so far, as long as there is no quality issues and the switches feel good to me then im getting it. the only thing i wish they would add to this board would be some more macro buttons under the space bar, when playing a game your thumb is only really used for jump, so having a few buttons under the spacebar would be amazing. i do not recall which board has that i think its one of the roccat ones.

From what I am aware of the Orion Spark is not out yet unless you had the oppurtunity to pre-test it. In which case I am glad that this is a good keyboard because I have it preordered.

Romer G's are made by omron. They are no strangers to mechanical switches or mechanical keyboards.

I think the most interesting part about the switches, is how they illuminate. They have a lightpipe that shoots from the LED in the switch all the way up to the back of the key cap. Where as Corsair uses a clear Cherry switch housing to act as the lense for the LED inside it.

I expect it to feel like the Razer orange switches, with out a lot of rotation and tilt on the key cap that is common with cherry mx keys. Just a good solid linear actuation with a tactile bump.

Now if only they could announce a G13 replacement with these switches I would buy one, day one no matter the cost.

Now, I'm going to say I might find this more believable if it were SC2 players because you only use like, 6 keys in lol anyway

yes i very much the lighting system, due to it basically shooting up through the middle of the switch directly to the cap from the videos i have seen it seems to lead to little or no light shining down on the backplate of the board which is something i absolutely hate on boards like the k70 RGB i honestly think the k70 rgb looks repulsive due to that.

i spoke to someone who tested the switches and they said they feel somewhat like browns just with a shorter travel distance.

That plus no housing on the keyboard means you can see the stuffs beneath the keycap anyway. That's always put me off Corsair keyboards

Not just for light "bleed" but it's going to make the LEDs much brighter than on the RGBCherry as well.

Of course, you still have to be able to access the games code to make it actually useful during a game. It really can be a game changer if games would allow you to make use of the RGB switches. But it's a VERY low priority.

And the Romer G's have the same short actuation as on the Razer/Kaihl switches. Which is why it will feel similar.

I've been debating for a while between a orbweaver and g13 so count me in on this, i will now wait to see if they release a new g13 style keypad/gamepad with the new switches and rgb and all that however,
