Trouble with new NIC

hey guys, i just recently got a BigFoot networks killer 2100, and there is a issue with it. there seems to be no connection to the card, along with the card not seeming to power on. there are no lights coming of from it, it doesn't show up in my BIOS(idk if it should or not), and there is no green and amber lights coming from the port when an Ethernet cord is plugged in. Its also not detected in a device sweep when i go to install the latest drivers. the card is plugged into the PCIe 1x slot i got the card as a gift, and the person who gave it to me said it was new, although it wasn't in a retail box, and didn't come with documentation

motherboard and CPU;

Motherboard- Asus maximus IV extreme

CPU- core i7 2600k

I would try re-seating it in the motherboard. Test it in another system maybe. Could be faulty. Try a different PCI-E slot

Sorry for not reply earlier, been busy lately. Tried it in another mobo, didn't work. Had it in a 16x slot before I had it in the 1x slot. Will try and contact Bigfoot tomorrow for a RMA
