Evga reference working with Gigabyte reference?

Go to solution Solved by Sexy Vanilla Freshness,

Will work fine.

With Nvidia cards, if the chip and amount of VRAM match it will work in SLI.

So, with the launch of the 900 series, 700 should drop in price soon.. I have an Gigabyte reference 780Ti now, but I'm saving up for another one so I can buy it when it drops.. But I can't find any site here that sells Gigabyte reference.. But alot of Evga that sell them. So, if I buy a Evga, will it work without any problems with my Gigabyte? Maybe a stupid question, but It's expensive and I want to be completly sure.

You could match Gigabyte refernace with a ACX, a direct CU II, and a Galaxy HOF in 4 way SLI

Yeah it will work. But you should buy it now, there will be no drop in price. They have been discontinued, so you either buy it now or you will have to find a used one off ebay or something.

4 way Sli seems a little overkill, 2 is definetly enough for me and my money.

I was just saying how you can mix and match 4 different cards.

I just saw that 980 will be $550,  that's even cheaper than 780Ti.. Seems so stupid not to lower the price of 780Ti..

you don't want the two cards competing in prices, though that is largely up to the aftermarket manufacturers. ASUS went down by 25% 10 days ago, not sure if in anticipation of Maxwell or what

Yeah, but if 780Ti is more exspensive, and worse than an 980.. No one will buy it

All after market coolers in Europe are ~$100 more than the same on a 780Ti. Its the reverse of what's the case in the States ^^
