i have comcast and they haven't really given me any problems

I think people dislike Comcast because they're an example of an Evil Corporation. Their priority is to maximize profits, at almost any cost. Most people use a privacy program, called Tor, for additional privacy on the Internet. Comcast wants to boot people who use Tor from their service. Comcast is also one of the corporations trying to get rid of Net Neutrality. Those are just a couple reasons people don't like Comcast.

In areas where Comcast has a monopoly over your internet service, they are literally a con-artist organization with the sole goal of maximizing profit.

 

In areas where Comcast has competition i.e. Verizon, then they're just your everyday below average internet service provider.

All these older companies would rather give customer's as little as possible instead of innovating. Price to performance ratio's are ridiculous for this time.
