I know that it might push your budget, but if you can afford it definitely buy an SSD. There are cheap 128GB SSD's by Intel and Crucial nowadays, and are definitely a worthwhile investment.

it depends on your budget on how much your looking to spend, you can get better improvements than the build you posted above if your budget is greater than the price in the build above.

A few dollars more gets you the 4670k. Everything else is acceptable for the budget. Though are you willing to stretch your budget? If so, get a 120GB ssd.

I just want to remind you if you choose a Haswell Refresh CPU it might not work as you'll need a BIOS update. I've had this experience before with other clients where the reason their fresh new system did not properly boot is due to the BIOS version not supporting their CPU, meaning I had to purchase a lower tier CPU in order to do a BIOS update. After that it worked as it was intended to.

 

Also I'm not sure if you know this but if you do get an SSD make sure to change where your Virtual Memory is going to read/write, by default it will most likely go to your C: drive which is your SSD. Redirect it to your mechanical so that your SSD life will be longer and for it to maintain good performance. But I highly doubt you'll cap your 8GB RAM, but just for pre-caution unless you do use 6+ GB RAM for some reason.

Pretty good, use the extra to get yourself a nice Keyboard and Mouse, headset or speaker (whichever your preference is).

I would also recommend, just like the rest, on an SSD but ONLY if you can stretch the budget. Check out Crucial M500 120GB, trust me, it's worth it.
