Hard Drive System Image Problem

so I just got my first raid 0 array going with two sandisk plus ssds and I want to put my OS and stuff on it and use my hard drive for mass storage. My only problem is when i go into the "create partition and stuff" window to shrink my volume it says i only have 9 Gbs available to shrink when i know i have like 250 available. So I went to go defrag my hard drive and it said that it was already defraged. Can somebody help me solve this? Its my first time doing somthing like this and im kind of new and confused.
