An open headphone will give you a much better experience, but if you insist.

And to be clear, you mean noise isolating, not noise canceling. Noise canceling headphones won't do much of anything if you're just sitting at your desk and will arbitrarily make it worse.

I would suggest you look at something like an AT A900X, SRH440, SRH840, or perhaps a DT770.

Not sure what open headphones are

Not sure what open headphones are

Closed headphones isolate you from the noise around you (and keep others from hearing your music), while open headphones usually produce better sound but at the expense of sound passing through the cups.

I'd rather go with something that has thousands and thousands of consistently high reviews (not just Amazon, was just using that as an example) over something not very well known with only fewer reviews.

In that case, OP would need to physically try both to make a proper opinion. But that's probably out of the question, thus I advice he goes with something well known and often suggested. But it's his choice, so hey.

I never suggested the Clouds to the OP, I was just asking why you generalize everything. If you would just look around, there are plenty of threads about them, and I can personally confirm they sound the same as described. There may not be thousands of reviews, but there's enough with matching information, including people with pretty trustworthy opinions. Maybe instead of just completely bashing headsets whenever someone mentions them, either say you'd recommend a pair of headphones, or not reply at all... but if not, whatever.
