I'm in the progress of finding parts to build my new PC. My plan was to use the define r4 with a 240 mm liquid cooler like the h100i. I just recently discovered that there could be some clearance issues depending on the motherboard. I need some help to decide what to do. My budget is about the same as a define r4 + h100i. Should I find a new case or another CPU cooler?

I'm gonna do some light-medium overclocking using an i5-4690k.

One of the important thing is the noise level, I want to sit right next to my pc without the noise bothering me

Specs:

i5-4690k

Hyperx fury red 16gb 1866MHz

RM750 Modular PSU

ASUS VII Ranger

WD Black 1TB

Samsung 840 Evo 500GB

I have a few months old GTX 770 Windforce in my current rig that I'm gonna use.

Get a Noctua NH-D15.

It's priced near the H100i, and performs better.

I forgot one thing.

The system has to be color matched and look nice. I know that manufacturers like noctua have great products, but I want both performance and looks. I've considered using a white case, but I don't know if it is going to look nice

Get a Noctua NH-D15.

While the noctua products are great I can't deal with their ugly color scheme. My whole system is black and red and I'm trying to have a very clean look, and I can't accomplish that with noctua

Spraypaint the fans then.

Or get a Dark Rock Pro 3.

I really like the dark rock pro 3, but how does it stack up against the other coolers like the d15 from noctua?

It performs within ~7 degrees of it, check out some reviews of it.

An even better contender is the CRYORIG R1 Ultimate.

I've tried to find the CRYORIG R1 Ultimate in my country (Denmark) and I can only find one shop who have it. But they are out of stock right now. I think I'll go with the dark rock pro 3. But what makes the CRYORIG R1 Ultimate a better contender?

It performs slightly better. And it fits your color scheme better than the Noctua.

While they look and perform nice they are unfortunately not available in my country. I think I'll go with the be quiet! Cooler. But I have a few questions about it. They mention in a couple reviews that the fans used in the cooler is air flow optimized. But wouldn't static pressure be a better choice when they are used against a heatsink? If it is a possibility could I buy 2x corsair sp120 fans and use the be quiet! for case fans?

Will I run into clearance issues with the hyperx memory?

I would not replace the BeQuiet! fans for Corsair SP120s... The SilentWings have more than enough static pressure. The big middle one does 2.1mm H20, and the front one does 1.23. SP120s do 1.29, so slightly more than the smaller SilentWing, but the airflow and noise of the SilentWing is vastly superior.

I have about 40$ left in my budget, the r4 comes with 2 case fans and the r4 has the space for on more 140mm. Can you recommend a nice 140mm silent case fan?

Probably the best bang-for-buck option in that situation is the Cougar Vortex

I have a define R4 and can confirm that 240 mm AIOs will fit. There is an offset mounting place that you can use. I once hat a swiftech H220 mounted in there without any issues.

But like you i am a fan of silence so i went back to air cooling. My Dark Rock 3 (non pro) cools my 4670K @4.3GHz @1.2V down to 60-65 °C

The DR3 Pro could have clearance issues, but i doubt it, since your RAM is already very low profile.

Phanteks also makes a massive dual tower air cooler, dunno what it's called but it comes in various colors. Prolimatech Megahalems is also a good one, but it comes without any fans, which is nice imo because you can choose your own.

who cares...

Another great fan for non-horisontal locations is the aerocool ds 140mm, comes in different colors
