3pin or 4pin doesnt make a difference between working and not working, it is only about control, so they should be working.

you can plug them into the psu as well.

does your pc turn on?

3 pin fans fit into 4 pin fan slots on the motherboard and vice versa I think, you plug them into the mobo. It may be easier to post a picture of your build, so we can diagnose the problem.

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ these r my parts ... my psu has a cord i think called the molex and my case back fan connects to it and theres like a smaller peice connected to the molex on the psu tht i think connects to the psu fan on the mobo but on the mobo is 3 pin and the molex its 3 conneter

You only need to plug in one of them. I normally snip off the 4pin molex on the fan since they're pretty obsolete compared to 3 and 4pin connectors that allow the speed to be controlled through the motherboard whereas the 4pin molex connector runs the fan at full speed.
