Hey guys, long post so if you can help then please read it all =)

Past 2 weeks I've been getting some incredibly weird issues with my Crossfire Gigabyte R9 290's while playing Battlefield 4.

At the moment, with settings maxed out on a 64 Player server i'm getting around 50-80 FPS, sometimes less, sometimes more. Both GPU's never seem to both stay at around 100%, one will hit 100%, the other will be at 7%, then it will reverse. I've included a video below to show you what I mean. I am also randomly getting kicked out of games with no reason being stated by Battlefield, just closes straight down. Also sometimes if I ALT-TAB out of the game it freezes and gives me an error message pictured below.

The game doesn't give me the option to change between Mantle or Direct X 11 which seems odd. I've reinstalled GPU drivers, unenabled then Reenabled Crossfire, unistalled then Reinstalled BF4 and so on! I just can't bloody figure it out

Video showing GPU load's being unusualy and terrible frame rate for 1080P

I'm also getting this weird issue with artifacting when playing on some maps, i have tried this with a single GPU installed (removed GPU1, tried it on GPU 2 still got issue and same when removed GPU 2 so not sure if a Battlefield problem or what)

Random Error when ALT-TAB sometimes

I pulled each GPU out and ran them through their own individual Valley test to see if either were playing up but both achieved the same score and when running Crossfire the result doubled as you would expect so not sure what's happening

So my issues are:

  • Terrible frame rate when running Crossfire
  • Randomly kicked out of games with no error
  • Sometimes ALT-TABBING freezes game and gives error
  • Artifacting when looking at certain textures, occurs on both GPU's even when a GPU is removed and tested individually in system

Throw down any suggestions you may have because boy-oh-boy am I all out, GPU's on their own seems to work fine but Crossfire just isn't doing it's job.

Full system Specs are in my signature =)

Try using MSI Afterburner to increase the power limit to +20%. That solves a lot of issues

well the Random Error has to do with running out of memory on your GPU

and by the way your build looks cool hope it starts working smoothly for you

Thanks man, but don't see how it could run out of memory when its a 4GB card playing on a single 1080p monitor.
