How do they side panels on the 350D go on? Is it a slide on type of thing or is it on a hinge?

 

She wouldn't mind drilling some holes into the side panel in order to make it work

Slide on.

 

Although Bitfenix Comrade also has a listed cooler clearance of 160mm...

My friend has a Be Quiet! Shadow rock 2 cooler on a AMD mobo

 

Im thinking of getting her a Corsair 350D, I was wondering if it would fit.

 

Currently she has a Bitfenix Comrade, the cooler barely fits. with about a millimeter of clearance between the side panel and heatsink

350D has a CPU cooler clearance of 160mm. Shadow Rock 2 is... 160mm. So the answer is "no" (who knows how they calculate the maximum height) or "barely".

 

EDIT: Oh wait, it's 160 mm "without mounting material). Probably will not fit.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.
