This is my current build, and I have my FX-6300 overclocked to 4.6GHz. According to CoreTemp, my temperatures even when running Prime95 never go above 47C, which I find hard to believe since I'm running a 1.1GHz OC and only using a $30 air cooler with a single fan inside of a terribly cooled case. I have the voltage bumped up to over 1.4 by a little bit, so I figured temps would go up more than they did. I feel like the temps should be higher and whatever is reading temperatures is broken and I am potentially putting my CPU at risk... any suggestions?

It should be just fine, though with a lot of AMD CPUs the temperature sensors are not working properly.

Did you try to look at your BIOS temp readings? What are your ambient temp?

Use HWmonitor and look at the motherboard socket temp. Your CPU temp sensor is probably faulty.
