Hello,

I'm a pro-am photographer from Newcastle, UK. I am looking into buying a tablet for quick editing on the go with programmes such as Photoshop and Lightroom. Could anyone recommend a reason not to go ahead and buy the surface pro 64gb version?

 Thanks

if you're looking a for a tablet that can run photoshop windows 8 tablets are you're only option, and the Pro is actually a really good tablet. The touchscreen especially will be great for you since it recognizes different pressures. Kind of like have a wacom tablet with a full version of windows. Would recommend going up to the 128 GB size though, you'll go through the space left on the tablet fast with photo editing.

for the application you probably won't find a better tablet. Other tablets may have better hardware but I haven't found one yet with the same touch screen.

Yup, Surface Pro is the way to go. (wow! ended up being catchy).  The digitize pen the tablet has is made by Wacom, and PhotoShop supported drivers has been recently released for full support. So, it's perfect.

HOWEVER, before buying I would strongly wait after Microsoft BUILD event that will be held on June 26 to the 28.

It is expected that Microsoft talks/announces about new Surface models. Possibly a new version of the Surface Pro with Intel Haswell processor, and a 256GB SSD option.

256GB version is already heading to Japan, so I'd imagine this is definitely coming to North America sometime.

Yup, that is why I said it. But lucky Japan... well maybe not... as Surface 2 is underway... depends if Microsoft has got better distribution channels, and was able to and willing to mass produce initially the Surface 2 series of tablet, as this first generation Surface wasn't, to please OEMs, which they fails miserably, and Microsoft had to switch gear in actually mass producing it.
