Wireless stream macbook to TV

Hey everyone,

My brother recently bought this TV: Sony KDL-42W706

The TV has almost everything we need, Youtube, netflix, etc,

But there is 1 thing that we want, and that is to stream his macbook(air) to the TV.

Apple TV could work.. but it's not worth buying it for just this one feature.. Is there another solution to this?

It's basicly what an hdmi cable would do if you were to connect it to the tv, but then it needs to be wireless.

Thanks!

The Chromecast can do this, but Chromecast Streaming is currently in Beta. (And there is little point in having one with a SmartTV)

And hmm, this post made me remember that there is a MacBook Air on top of my computer.

I forgot that I swapped my rig out for a placeholder machine for a week, and the Mac is just sitting there on top of my Node 304.

hahah

Yeah with a smartTV it seems pointless, but it's just that 1 feature we need:P

Hmm, I guess this depends on the TV. I'll see if it's possible when we actually get the TV(It's shipping:))

Chromecast should work I think.

Yeah chromecast is a better solution than apple tv xD Don't know if it also works with a macbook though,

It should work with a MacBook fine so long as you use Google Chrome.
