I recently bought a razer adaro stereos cause my brother said they will sound good cause he likes his kraken pro which gives a nice bass. the sound is not that bad. but im not good enough to tell the difference. i just want a better sound if i can get them. i was thinking of selling them and getting hyperx cloud. do you guys have any suggestions? the clouds are sold in my place for $100 and the ath-m50 for $130. should i keep my razer adaro or sell them and get a different headphones. other suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

"not good enough to tell the difference" uhm... what?

Try them out first (if possible), if you truly don't notice a difference, why spend the money, and the hassle for an upgrade that means naught.

Personally, the Hx Clouds are still gaming headsets, they can be outdone by some audiophiles and a modmic or desk/stand mic, granted it will run you some more pretty pennies.

Sound is really subjective... The Cloud is not bad if you need a headset. You could look at the ATH-M30X.

You don't need to be an audiophile to distinguish what's bad, good, or better, that's all subjective.

I will always recommend that you buy a headset that has a more flat soundstage, then adjust the highs, mids, and lows with an equalizer, you'll always get better results than a headset that's tuned for bass.

What I always recommend on topics like these (in reproduction from my first post here on the LTT forums and personal experience) is that you look at the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro's. I have zero complaints with them. You'll need a modmic (http://www.modmic.com/) or a desk mic such as the AT2020, or Blue Snowball (two recommendations, of many available) if a mic is necessary, however.

Their banner has Beyerdynamic listed, so at some point, one can assume that they had/have Beyerdynamic products. You could give the store a call, and find out for certain.

I have no other suggestions from personal experience, however Sennheiser and AudioTechnica are both well regarded. It's likely that a quality setup form any of these three companies will run you more than $130, especially when the necessity for an external mic comes into play.
