Many people using a UPS

Hey all,

 

Thinking of getting a UPS and was wanting to know if many other people use one?

 

Looking at getting a CyberPower brand they seem reasonable priced.

I use two for both of my observatory computers just incase the power goes out. Its really handy because if the power goes out, it detects it and shuts off all of my equipment by saving all the files instead of the screen going blank and me losing everything. If you get a good one with circut protection, surge protection etc, it could be a handy investment. Especially since most have $10,000 warranty

I use a line conditioner no UPS but the pure sinewave CyberPower UPSs are great, you will be good with one of those.

CyberPower are a good budget choice. Eaton are annoying as the battery isn't user serviceable like APC are.

I have one because my power is always going out. Paid 90 bucks for a 850W cyber power one

I have a APC for my server rack.

 

Don't really need one for my PC.

i had one and my mission critical computers still run off of one i would get one for my computer if i had the space and money but my pc would probably run through a 500w one in less than an hour
