Valve basically has to deal with 90% of the pc gaming playerbase and I seriously doubt a company of around 400 people (probably only like 50-75 of those being customer support) would actually be able to handle the immense slew of support tickets that raid their offices every single minute.

 

point: get over it or buy hard copies of your games.

How many hard copies of games aren't Steam games though? Ubisoft and EA perhaps? And from my experience even games that install from disc only go so far before having to download to finish off.
