So ive just bought a second AMD HD6970 for cheap and i am wanting to crossfire it with my current HD6970. I have tried crossfire with my HD6950 and my HD6970 which works great. My problem is ive bought a Asus HD6970 Direct CU2. This card has 2 8 pin power connectors. My current HD6970 which is a Gigabyte reference style has a 6 pin and a 8 pin.

My power supply is a XFX Pro series 850 Watt core edition and it only has 2 6+2 pin PCI-E connectors and 2 6 pin connectors. Now i was alright plugging my mate card in because that had 2 six pin connectors however with this new Asus card i need another 8 pin.

Anyone got any guide  on wiring a 6 pin connector into an 8 pin.

From what i can see on my current 6+2 pin connectors it is just a 6 pin with an additional 2 earth pins backed onto the earths on the 6 pin.
